We believe CSR is about Sustainability, “Meeting our needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In addition to Natural resources, we also need social and economic resources.”

We have taken a 3 pillar approach, in which we focus on

1. Environment
2. Society
3. Economy

Environment

We have looked into Energy consumption, waste and water management. We have used solar power to reduce our overall energy needs from fossil fuels, and introduced a water recycling plant to manage our waste water.

We have also taken steps to avoid non-biodegradable polythene in our production and for general use. We have introduced steps to reduced dust and noise emission levels from our factories, and strictly adhere to Central Environmental Authority standards.

Society

In terms of the social aspects we have considered both from an internal and external point of view, internally, we have ensured the employees are developed, recognised and are recruited in an unbiased manner. We have also taken measures to ensure health and safety protocols are followed.

Within the external community, we have improved hygiene and sanitation facilities at a children’s school in our area.

We are also a member of CSR Lanka, a community development project which is reaching out to community’s island wide.

We have also provided a scholarship to a student for her education. As a team we organize blood donations annually, and arrange eye checkups to the neighboring community, and assist governmental organizations including hospitals, and local authorities with assistance during disaster situations, with either human resources or supplies.

Economic Performance

We pride in being one of the key export earners contributing to the economy of the country, whilst maintaining good governance practices.
